But she was right. She was actually correct, and wasn't so prideful as to refuse help from her friends. Her pride was completely justified in that episode, she was right and knew she was right so she acted like she was right; that's totally reasonable. At the end she sounded more happy about her stance being validated than prideful to me anyways. I mean, she was proud (and damn well should have been), but she was more excited about not losing her farm.Stahlseele wrote:Apple-Jack is too proud, not just too stubborn.
Applejack: Dear Princess Celestia, I wanted to share my thoughts with you. *a-HEM* I didn't learn anythin'! Ha, I was right all along!
Then again, I did completely forget about the episode where she ran away to try and make money to bring back after not winning a competition (even though she was super humble when everyone told her she would win for sure). Of course, she only did that to help everyone and fully intended to return when she had the money. So...still a selfless act of kindness, but one that could have been handled better (and the cause of the problem was feeling terrible about letting everyone down).
I just feel like Applejack has things to learn, but her personality itself isn't flawed like, say, Pinkie Pie or Rainbow Dash. They have actual problems with who they are, whereas Applejack is honest, hard-working and dependable.
The CMC did really make a comeback. After every episode they had in the first season was terrible they stepped up their game. They still haven't had any episodes I'd consider in my favorites (sorry, but Winter Wrap-up and Nightmare Night are too good), but I enjoy them now.
